Weekend Wanderings in Denver (Part II)- Red Rocks in the daylight

So I’m a little obsessed with Red Rocks!  If you couldn’t tell by the last post, I absolutely fell in love with this place.  Hands down best venue I’ve ever seen a live show in!  I was so wanting to go back during the day because I just knew that those rocks would be even more majestic in the full glory of daylight.  I was not disappointed!

I knew that the word Colorado was a term for “reddish” or “red” in colour.  I didn’t know that it was called that because of the Colorado River ( Rio Colorado) which has red coloured silt that it carries down from the mountains.  I thought maybe in my head, it was called Colorado  for the Red Rocks themselves.. but perhaps the two go hand in hand.

Regardless, this place is truly majestic.  If you are a music lover, make sure you look up concerts for next season and buy early.  Its worth the flight price (which is really decent from Vancouver) just to see a concert live there!

I will be going back FOR SURE!!!

I apologize for the lack of humans in the following pictures, but I was, and still am, completely mesmerized by these rocks.

oh yeah, not only is this crazy steep, and hard to breath up here (over a mile above sea level), but people do bootcamp style workouts up and down the stairs…. these people are hard core I tell ya!

these two looked like they were sitting on the edge of the world.  I just happened to capture her in the midst of the hair flip!
