Resolutions

I am a big believer in resolutions.  Despite all the cynics out there who think that resolutions are a waste of time,  last year I decided to write mine all down on a piece of paper and keep them on my desk so that I could see them all the time and be more accountable to them.  Well I’m happy to report I completed 10 out of 12 of them and am so pleased with myself for accomplishing them.

I don’t think that you have to limit them to once a year, but it often goes that  as the year is winding down, we all tend to reflect on the past 12 months and what we can do in the next twelve to improve ourselves and our lives.

I’m all for self improvement, so here goes my list: (i’m planning to get 12 out of 12 this year)

1. Go somewhere I have never been before ( this is already in the works, stay tuned)
2. Take a photography class
3. Learn how to use Photoshop Elements better
4. Write  blog posts more regularly ( at least 3 times a week)
5. Complete the Happiness Advantage Challenge – see my last post for more details
6. Exercise and eat healthy
7. Read at least one book a month
8. Keep a journal
9.  Do something that scares me( in a good way) , something that is challenging and outside my normal comfort zone
10. Run a 5 km race
11. Be true and honest with myself, stand up for myself (I’m carrying this over from last year because its important to remember)
12. Practice Spanish more

By the way, I think writing your resolutions down is a really great way of sticking to them.  I also think picking really attainable tangible goals is a good way to stay on track. Good luck to you all!  If you feel like sharing, please do! would love to hear what you want to work on over the next year

That’s a great set of resolutions! I’m keeping mine a little smaller this year but I’m still editing 😉 Think I’ll take your advice though and keep them posted where I can see them. Help keep me on track!
